Karen Stanley Fleming earned an MBA from Harvard University, MS in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and BS in Chemical Engineering from Vanderbilt University. Having honed her skills in the family business, Stanley Construction Company, Inc., she led the company's branding and promotion strategy resulting in founder Thornton Stanley becoming the 2001 United States Small Business Administration National BusinessPerson of the Year.
